I've been seeing costumes peek out of deal sites and local FB resale groups!
That prompted me to start thinking about it and I have no idea!
Do you know what LO is dressing up as? Any ideas for a 18 month old?

I'm putting serious thought into her being Dorothy, but we'll see!

DS and I were talking about this yesterday and I think we're going with something Star Wars this year.

Yes! I'm down between 2 ideas. Either C and I are going to dress as Alice and the Cheshire Cat or she and her baby BFF are going to be Batman and Robin.

I've been thinking about it but can't come up with anything good that hasn't already been done!

She's going to be a pumpkin. Because that's the costume I got for free from my BFF : )

I asked what DD wants to be already. She said fairy or butterfly... I'm trying to come up with something more creative that she might go for, haha. I think DS doesn't really care yet...

Probably some kind of superhero. Batman, Superman, Ironman. DH loves all that stuff so it's inevitable.

Oh man I hadn't even crossed that bridge...is it that close?! Time is flying by

Yes, DH and I are going to be bank robbers & DD is going to be a big old bag of (cute) money

C will be a chicken. I found the cutest costume on etsy and couldn't resist. Now it will just be a matter of getting him to wear it.

@zippylef: love the Batman & Robin idea! I was thinking about female superheros like wonder woman, etc
@LuLu Mom: SO cute!!!
@T-Mom: haha but it's so cute that she picks.
@babyjmama: YES! Costumes start selling out around September!

LO is going to be Cinderella because my aunt went overboard at the Disney store when R was born a few weeks ago and got me a baby Cinderella outfit.

I saw some costumes on the Carter's website when I was shopping the other day but no clue what we will go with. She will be 7 1/2 months so I need some ideas.

LO and I will be Rockford Peaches and DH will be Jimmy Dugan from A League of Their Own! Have to get started sewing....

I received a couple of hand me down Halloween things-- a pumpkin costume that will probably be too big (LO will only be 3 months-ish) and these really cute black and orange striped leggings and Mummy's Little Pumpkin t shirt-- so depending on what fits, I'll put the baby in one of those probably.
That's what I say now, but of course, once the baby is here I'll probably want to pick something out myself anyway.

I have 2 pumpkin costumes from Carter's. DS will wear the smaller one. If DD can still fit into the 2T I got her last year she's gonna be a pumpkin again too!
I love pumpkins!

I think DS might be a little shark. I've seen some really cute shark hoodie costumes!

It's her first Halloween and will be almost 11 months. I saw a really cute Kermit costume on Gilt last year but didn't buy it. Hope I can find it somewhere this year!

Maybe Dorothy so our pup can be Toto. I really want to make our dog a direwolf and LO as Arya Stark but I think that might be too intense for an 8 month old
pomegranate / 3401 posts
Yes! Even before LO was born I really wanted to dress her up as a ear of corn....and DH and I could be farmers. But now I dont know if I will be able to find a corn costume that will fit...I feel like they are usually for young infants and she will be 8 months and a chunker!

Oh ya. Fav holiday over here. I've had my costume for like 10 months. And I just bought my cat dexter an ice cream Sunday costume and the girl cats will be a pig and a bee.

@Mrs. Jump Rope: she would be ADORABLE as Dorothy!!!

DS is going to be Yoda. He's too young for trick-or-treating though.
bananas / 9227 posts
No one trick-or-treats here, so I picked out a cupcake costume on clearance last year from Old Navy. If it fits she'll be a cupcake, if it's too big, then I'll DIY a Cinderella outfit.

We just received a ladybug costume hand-me-down! It's cute, but since it's K's First Halloween (and I love Halloween!), I'm likely to buy another costume too!
@zippylef: I LOVE this idea! When we were at the Disney Store in Europe, the Cheshire Cat was K's FAVORITE stuffed animal! (Of course, I haven't been able to find one since we got home yet.) I might have to borrow it! I already have an Alice costume and I think we have a Mad Hatter's hat. Hope you don't mind!

We don't do Halloween, but we love to dress up & G has tons of Superhero costumes! Maybe we'll start getting P some so she can join the comic bond we all have! lol
pomegranate / 3858 posts
LO will only be 11 months, so nothing fancy! My mom gave us a dragon costume (just head and eye mask), and I've got some Halloween onesies that I was gifted...
pomegranate / 3329 posts
I have M's Childrens Place monkey costume from her first Halloween, and a Banana. We'll see which fits better! I'm not sure what M will be, she might want to pick her own ? I think we also have a poodle and a ladybug costume from Old Navy from the girls.
My husband found this video on youtube (maybe I can edit it on here from my laptop later) it's called peanutbutter jelly I think. There's a dancing banana that M loves, so when I brought the banana costume home he got all excited and said we need to find a matching one in M's size!
Edited to add that Pinterest has the cutest ideas ever!! I forgot about some of the ones I have pinned.

No LO yet, I'll just be bumpy at Halloween, so I was thinking of getting this maternity shirt. "I eat small children"

They are going to be batman and robin (girly tutu versions) I have already made the tutus! Dh and I are going to wear the star trek costumes that we just got for the kids adventure day we have at our church.

DD's due date is 10/14 so I am trying to think of something fun ahead of time that I can plan for! I saw a really cute one now on pinterest that was a BABY BURRITO. Swaddle that looked like a tortilla and had lettuce and tomatoes sticking out, and a hat with lettuce/tomatoes glued to it. ADORABLE. And a burrito swaddle would be one size fits all! Trying to think of more....

So far I pick themed costumes
year 1: baby devil, sexy nun and priest.
year 2: Ewok, Princess Leia and Han Solo
year 3 (this year): Bam Bam, Barney Rubble, and Betty Rubble

I bought his Halloween costume from PBK's last Halloween sale. He's going to be Max from Where the Wild Things Are.
grapefruit / 4862 posts
@brownie: omg I love the themes!!!
DH does the BEST Paula Deen impression (throw a wig and earrings on him and it's a little scary) so I need to think of something food network themed for the 3 of us!!!!
