the temperature suddenly dropped over here. it was so cold last night, i had to add another blanket before getting into bed. and today, right now, i'm wearing a scarf, 2 pairs of socks, and a lap blanket worn as a shawl.
it's probably time to turn on the heat. but ugh, it literally triples our energy bill.

Yes!! It came on all last night! I have DD in a sleeper and a fleece sleep sack but I have three blankets and a sweatshirt on and I'm pretty cold. It's set at 65 for night time though...maybe I should turn it up a notch.

Just a few times. DS's room gets really cold and that's the only reason we've turned it on. It's a perk to living in an apt!

Yep. The heat's been on since Sept but not everything is on. We basically don't use any energy until winter. Our energy bill is crazy expensive since we don't have underwater heating like a lot of the houses here, but it still averages out decently throughout the year.

We live on the third floor apartment so we don't usually need the heat, which is great! But we make up for it in the summer with the AC.

Yep. Ours has been on since mid-September. It's been jacket weather since the end of August. Ugh.

Yes we've been using it since we brought LO home, with the exception of warmer days. We live in an old, drafty house and I don't want her to freeze.

Hahaha, if people make it to October in Alberta without turning on the furnace, it is a warm year! That being said, we've just moved to Toronto...and when we get our house (early Dec) I am sure it will be on!

@Bao: us too! We went a year & a half in new England without heat, but then the gas company was charging us anyway (they reserve the right to use estimated usages rather than actual meter readings when they for whatever reason haven't made it out to read our gas meter) so I turned it on, I'm paying for it! I might as well use it! We have our central air blasting in the summer though, so hot.

Hah. Our AC is still blasting, especially with how hot I have been getting at night. We are supposed to have a cool front come through tonight so we will see. I prefer a cold house to a warm house though, especially with this internal furnace. We will certainly turn it on when baby arrives though.

Yes, it's four degrees out now! I keep turning it off in the middle of the night because I'm a hot pregnant lady, and dh gets mad.

I am in Wisconsin and so far we have held out. It was pretty cold for a while and we were going to, but it warmed up this weekend. We do have a wood buring fireplace that we have used a couple of times though.

We turned ours on about 2 weeks ago. Except this weekend was in the mid 60s! But then major drop tomorrow to like 38! Ugh, Chicago weather..

We've had the heat off and on for the last 6 weeks. It was so warm today I wanted to open the windows and air out the house, but I know it's going to get super cooltonight.

The last couple days have been really cold (30 degrees at night with frost on the car windows).

We've had it on for awhile now, but we're pretty far north and had some cold days. It's set super low (66-67 I think) though.

we just turned on the heater yesterday. it's not that cold in so cal, but when you live in a 1950s bungalow with no insulation, it's usually colder in our house than outside!

We've probably had heat on since early October... However, there's also a foot of snow on my front lawn so I think I'm allowed.
