Holy sh*t!
As some of you may know, B went on a nursing strike a couple weeks ago. I tried everything to get him to nurse including several LC visits, supplements, and correcting his tongue/lip tie. Nothing worked. I took it really poorly and had to go on an anti-depressant. Finally, I resigned myself to the fact that our nursing relationship was over.
A little while ago, he got hungry and was crying while waiting for his bottle. Mid-meltdown, he literally dove down to my breast and tried to suck through my shirt. I was a little nervous, but I decided to see if maybe, by some shot, he'd nurse. He latched right on and I immediately heard him swallowing.
He only nursed for about 10 mins before he started crying and pulled off. He has always had transfer issues, so I have no clue how much he got. He had milk on his face and in the shield though.
He was still hungry when he pulled off and sucked down 2 oz of formula. He usually eats 3-4 ounces though so maybe he got some breast milk?! I had pumped about 30 mins prior to him eating so that may have affected things a bit.
I am so insanely happy but am trying not to get my hopes up. It is nice knowing there is a glimmer of a chance I can start our nursing relationship again though!
