Baby is 8.5 months and has been going down for his naps with no complaints and falls asleep within a few minutes for the past 8 weeks. We were on vacation last week and he had a fever on Thur morning to Friday morning, but still napped fine on his own. He had trouble sleeping Thur night, but was back to normal Friday night. We came home Saturday and all was pretty normal, and then Sunday night he had a crazy coughing fit and couldn't go back to sleep for like 30 minutes until I finally nursed him to sleep. Monday morning, he took his first nap like usual and then it was all down hill from there. That afternoon he went down for 20 minutes, then the last nap we were at the doctors and he was SO over tired and ended up with a car nap. Yesterday he refused to nap and just stood there and cried out for 10 minutes before I went to pick him up and even then he wouldn't settle and I ended up nursing him to sleep for all naps. Same thing today. I try with the usual routine, put him down. He's starts to whine and it just escalates. He's still coughing and sniffly so I give in. Tell me it's just cause he's not feeling well!?? Will he go back to normal and just go down for naps on his own?? Am I created a monster by letting him nurse to nap right now??
