I've never been a very patient person, but I feel like lately what little patience I used to have is slowly dissipating 
I hate how I've been snappy at my daughter for normal toddler behaviors. I'm really struggling and would appreciate any suggestions or tips on having more patience throughout the day.

Ugh, following. My only solution at the moment is to remind myself that he's still not communicating well with me (verbally, anyway) and then I close my eyes and take 4 deep breaths.

I try not to let my annoyance show or snap at DD even though she DRIVES ME CRAZY (and has on occasion made me cry from frustration...tell me Im not the only one lol). I usually just close my eyes, take a deep breath and then try and respond in a cool calm manner. If I don't think I can do that, I just walk away for a minute.

Sigh, I'm with you. Some days it's just too much but I try and remind myself she's only 18 months. The biggest thing that gets me is whining and repeating things over and over even when I aknowledge her. No real tips to give you but know you're not alone.

@Bao: Oh god the whining. The whining does it in for me. I can handle the screaming tantrums, but the constant whining makes me want to pull my hair out!

You're not alone, but ever since she got into crazy toddler behaviour i have taken a very zen approach. My voice gets lower and quieter and i find that itself actually calms me down than me raising my voice or getting upset. I just have to remind myself not to take it personally!

I sometimes have to close my eyes and remove myself from the situation! It is tough, especially when it SEEMs like they're doing whatever they're doing on purpose just to annoy (even though I know that's not the case!).

I have struggled less with patience than I anticipated; but two things I do that helps is 1. take a huge, vocalized inhale/exhale. sometimes he mimics me, which is funny, but it helps me release tension before I act or speak 2. kneel down and offer a hug. it sounds super cheesy and sometimes he ignores me, but often he will run over and hug me - which not only makes me happy it distracts him from whatever he's been doing that was bugging me in the first place.

I feel the same way! My tiny bit of patience is being consumed by being 35 weeks pregnant and there is virtually nothing left for my 18 month old. Everyday has been a struggle but hopefully I'll adapt to toddler behaviors soon?

For me I sometimes just need to put my LO in the play pen or her room and walk away for a minute or two. Mine is 22 months. Otherwise, I may lose my mind
