Only partially kidding.
After an endless hunt for the perfect chair, I finally found it today...at a Restoration Hardware OUTLET. Which means great prices, but they only have THREE and we need FOUR! And it is no longer available through the retail store.
And, and, and. Erm....Long Islanders? Anyone from Chicago? Wrentham Mass? And then meet up somewhere in between Toronto and where you are? I will pay in you love and hugs and anything you ask for.
SO FRUSTRATING.

@woodentulip: You could try calling the other outlets and seeing if they'd be willing to coordinate with a local shipping company?? I'm in the middle of Iowa.. so I can't help

I tried calling, telling this chair story like it is a real sob fest, but they all said the same thing--the outlet stores are cash and carry only--no shipping, period.

Ha. Imagine if we could orchestrate it!
They only have two though, and they are unwilling (maybe I should be more gracious and say unable) to place holds. It is all first come, first serve.
I wish that I lived near Wrentham. Oh wait, but then I would be hunting for two more chairs instead of just one

I know that it doesn't look like a chair that we should be hunting for, but we LOVE it! Love the finish and how simple it looks. Casual dining at our house!

Does the Wrentham store have it? I'm driving from NY to Martha's Vineyard this weekend and driving to MI for Christmas!
ETA: There's also a Queens location if any NYC-based bees are nearby! I could meet them and met you around Christmas?!

OH MAN. Christmas! Can you imagine trying to pack your family (and my chair!) into your car for a road trip like that? You would hate me!
But I would never say no.
The only problem (hahaha except for the getting of the chair, and the various storage/transport issues for you!) is that we are also away for Xmas from the 22-29...which is when I am guessing you will also be travelling?

@woodentulip: The Riverhead store is public transit accessible (bus, train, etc.) from NYC or Queens - http://www.tangeroutlet.com/riverhead/directions-transportation If you're willing to take a day trip to the outlets

@LindsayInNY: We are only in NYC from Thurs-Sun and then wouldn't be able to check it to fly home with...otherwise, great suggestion!
Also, we have scoured craiglist/kijiji (a canadian one, I think), with no luck.
