DH and I were looking around the house and we noticed something - about 80% of the stuffed animals that H has are zoo animals. In fact, two of his favorite stuffed animals? A white tiger from his first trip to the zoo that his daddy picked out for him and a kangaroo that I picked out for him. He sleeps with both every night and is often seen dragging them around the house with him!
So we're scratching our woodland idea for the nursery and instead turning it into a zoo. (I know, who didn't see that coming ;))
Our only problem is how do you make a zoo theme that will grow? It has to be somewhat gender neutral, not too cheesy, but we definitely want to bring the zoo theme into the room. I have tons of pictures that I took the first time we took H to the zoo and I can't wait to add pictures from when we take Em to the zoo but we also want to add zoo themed art work. We're not going to do animal prints but prints with animals on them? Sure. Elephant pillow is on my list along with a few other things but... how on earth do you plan a nursery around a zoo? And it's going to house two children (boy and girl). Any suggestions?
Feel free to post inspiration pictures for us! Doesn't have to be obvious zoo themed or it can look exactly like a zoo!
Here are pictures of the space completely empty (the day we took possession of it). It's roughly 12 feet by 15 feet. And don't worry, the hole in the wall was where a wall heater was, we're going to be taking care of that first!
