I'm inclined to get REALLY mad about that sort of thing, so I'd call the cops. Though DH is able to be pretty intimidating, so when we were dealing with a noisy neighbor he managed to scare him into behaving. (And he was not in any way overtly threatening!)

@Greentea: exactly! I've never even gone in that place! Grrrrr one time there were 30 people set up with TVs having a Mario cart tournament until 1 AM. Wtf?!

Yup. Due date is today! Membranes swept. 3cm. And DD is staying with MIL so I can get some rest just in case. So fingers crossed im not waiting much longer

Lol cops! Guh, I feel you. We weren't looking to buy for a few years yet but the new neighbors above and beside us have changed our minds. I work nights and the above neighbors dog howls ALL. DAY. No joke. The guy next door has 2 babies by 2 different women that frequent every weekend and scream to no end. We always think something is seriously wrong because he leaves them to scream in the living room and goes to hang out in his bedroom. It's been rough

@Greentea: I would document everything and call the manager again and again. I would also prepare for the worst tonight. If this is only the first couple weeks in, I'd be looking for a way to move. If they said noise off, people out at 9 pm, then they need to make that happen or you have every reason to walk. It sucks hard but I couldn't deal with that with a LO. Or with myself at this age!

That is SO infuriating. I agree about documenting all of it (especially when you have to call the cops), but if it's not in your actual lease (hope it is!), not sure what recourse you'll have. Still, I can't see it being impossible to do anything about it. Even if it's not in your lease, if it's in the official policies you could theoretically take them to court over it. And they wouldn't want that, presumably, so the threat might be enough to get them to do something. You might see if they have another apartment available now or at some point soon that they'd be willing to let you switch to. It'd be a pain to move again, but it would probably be worth it. Hope you're able to figure something out soon, because that is NOT acceptable!

I would just keep going to management and definitely be looking for that rule in writing.

@Greentea: I would be so upset! I would have called the cops a second time. Document everything. Maybe even take a video showing time and the amount of noise. I hope the people tonight are more respectful.

@Greentea: I know in my city quiet time is 10 pm so if it's the same for yours I would wait to call after 10. If the cops come and they're still noisy, I would call them back to let them know.

@Greentea: I can't believe this is still going on! I have gone beyond on site managers before and I'd do it again. Sometimes they are just ineffective.

Is it free to reserve the community room? Could you reserve it at night?!
