I finally got a chance to check out some diaper bags last night at BBB, and I'm debating between these two. Which would you pick?

I've never seen the JJ cole in person, but I haven't been impressed with skip hop bags. They're really cheap looking to me. And that JJ cole looks cute!

Ha-- I just put the JJ Cole one on my registry this weekend! I love the look of it, but I actually decided to take it off because I'm afraid it might be too big-- I'll only have one LO. When my bag is too big I fill it too much. BUT, I love the look of that one.

Based on the pics I chose the JJ Cole because I like the shape and it's got more flair!

I prefer the JJ Cole one as well, but the hubby thinks the Skip Hop once is more "useful" so I'm torn!!

I think if your DH is going to be carrying the bag too the skip hop is more man friendly. My DH would not be ok with carrying around the JJ Cole bag. Also I like that the skip hop has insulated pockets for bottles and sippy's, and they seem pretty big so when your LO does start using sippy's they will fit too. We just went diaper bag shopping because our old one broke and I have a toddler.... it was hard to find a bag with insulated pockets to keep sippy's cold.

I love the pattern of the JJ.. I carried a VB diaper bag around for awhile and DH didn't have an issue caring it.. That and he was to lazy to use his own

i love the JJ Cole but i would pick the other because the JJ Cole is too girly for DH...otherwise we would have to purchase a second diaper bag for him...

@artbee: @MrsCastro: Hubby already said he'd be okay with carrying non-masculine diaper bags so I'm okay there. I'm just indecisive so I can never decide on anything. lol

We have the Bento and we love it. We put so much stuff in it and I love that it comes with food containers and a cooler bag for food.

I bought the JJ Cole one and it's soooo pretty with so many pockets. That bag just makes me happy.

@Alivoo01: This was my main reason for picking the skip hop bag - that the JJ is a little bit feminine which would suck if your husband refused to carry it. But if that's not an issue the JJ is sooo cute!

@Alivoo01: I have the JJ Cole Satchel and I LOVE IT!!! LO is 6.5 months now and I've never thought about wanting another bag! It's plenty big for all day trips and not too bulky for quick trips. I also get tons of compliments on it. I love it!!!
ETA- I think the quality is great. We got around the girliness by getting DH a diaper dude bag (I got it as a Father's Day present for him last year).

Just looking at the pictures I prefer the look and style of the JJ Cole bag. I also agree with @mrs. tictactoe...I have never been impressed with Skip Hop bags on person. They always seem cheap and flimsy to me also.
Have you looked at any of the OiOi bags? Mine has held up great with 2 years of daily use!
Is your husband saying the skip hop is more "useful" meaning he would be more likely to carry it? Because my husband tried that and we got a husband approved bag and he rarely carries it (IMO my bag is more girly than the one I wanted but he picked it claiming he would carry it).

@anbanan15: The hubby saying it's more useful because it's insulated and comes with a bento box which will be great for storing food and snacks later on. He doesn't mind the girliness and will carry any bag I purchase.
I haven't heard of OiOi bags before, going to check them out now!

I like the Bento and I like the other Skip Ho bags. DH has a Duo and I have a Versa.

We just got the exacty same skip hop this weekend at my shower - i'm a little traumatized by how huge it is, but friends with kids say we'll eventually need it. I'm debating buying a small one too but will try the Skip Hop and see how it goes!

@Alivoo01: good to know! I wanted the OiOi that looks like a leather handbag but DH did not approve. The one he did approve was an OiOi messenger style and both side pockets are insulated on that one.
