Since we got robbed and my watch was one of the things stolen, I'm in the market for a new one. One of my requirements is a sapphire crystal face, and I would love an automatic. These are my top picks now, I LOOVE the blue hands, but it's not automatic. The only automatic with sapphire crystal <2k seems to be Longines. Does anyone know of any others that are automatic and sapphire crystal for less than 1k?

Movado, Gucci, Fendi and Michele all have sapphire crystal watches < $1000.

I have a Fendi ceramic watch that I really like. Sapphire crystal, but a little over 1k.

I would totally choose the Longines if they offer an automatic in that price range! I have a JLC and Cartier, both quartz, and keeping up with the batteries gets to be such a pain.

@T.H.O.U.: I've had mineral crystal and sapphire before. My mineral crystal watches always got a ton of scratches, but my sapphire crystal watch (the one stolen) never got a single scratch on the face after over 10 years of daily wear.
@spaniellove: How often do you have to change the battery. It seems like mine was every 3 years or so, which isn't *that* bad, but still a pain when it happens!

@PurplePumps: Hmm, I guess it's about every 2 years. There seems to be something going on in my home that's causing the Cartier to stop for a day at a time once in a while but I have no idea what it is. If I could choose anything for my next watch though I'd love an automatic Omega. Can't believe I had an Omega and lost it on the beach - I'm so sorry you got robbed!

I have a citizens Eco drive with no batteries and I love it. Going strong for 5 plus years now.
