Why is it that 12 month old sleepers are so tight fitted and have all the warnings about fire hazards?
My LO has been wearing 9 month sleep and plays from Carters but they are now too short so I bought 12 month old sleep and plays but the are so fitted and it says loose fitting clothes can catch fire more easily. I dont fully understand why is this fire hazard only an issue with the 12 month or older sleepwear but not the 9 month or younger?

I think it's a new thing, because I noticed this, too. It's frustrating because they feel so tight on her! I can't tell if it's a new thing, or if it's because 12 month olds are more mobile and can get into more stuff... therefore increasing the chance they could come in contact with fire?? Who knows....

i think it is a new thing ---- all the sleepers i bought up to the new one i purchased last week (24 months) were 'regular', but the new 24 month one i bought was super tight in the arms and legs too, and not as soft.
i know a bunch of sleepers from carters and old navy were recalled for being too loose and cotton. fire hazard, they say!
my chubby 11 month old can barely squeeze his arms into his 24 month old sleeper! yikes!

I thought Carters had two kinds of pajamas, the ones that are treated and the ones that are not treated? I buy all of my son's pjs from Carters and I buy the ones that are treated, because I can not get him into the non treated ones. They're just too tight.

@looch: really how you tell which one you are buying? does it say so on the label?

@looch: I'd like to know this too! I assumed the ones I've been getting aren't treated b/c I haven't noticed any label...

@Mrsbells: kind of, the ones that are non treated are the close fitting ones. the onest that are treated are the looser ones, and it tells you in the back of the pajama, under the collar.
