I signed up with ebates since I buy a lot online. But I dont get it. So far I have only used it for one purchase on amazon, but how can I tell if its working. I dont see anything onmy ebates account that shows that purchase. It was under$20 so maybe thats why?

Did you go through the Ebates website and click through to Amazon? What did you buy on Amazon? Only certain categories of purchases qualify for cash back.

so ebates is based on a revenue share model that runs through affiliate networks. they have deals with different online retailers that give them x% of $x (flat rate) of each sale that is run through the traffic they send to the site that converts into a sale. in turn they give you a % of that sale so it's a win-win for everyone.
you have to click through the link next to the retailer in the ebates page and make sure you're logged in since it's all run through urls and cookies. i've worked with ebates on the business side and not the consumer side so i'm not sure how long it takes to hit your account. did you check their FAQs section? they might have an answer for that. some will have a minimum purchase. you really do have to read the fine print in most cases to make sure your order qualifies for the deal.
but I do know it works and you can get money back if you shop a lot online. good luck.

Also when did you place your order? Sometimes it's taken upwards of a week or more for the ebate to even show up as pending on my account.

Another issue is that your ebates email has to be the same as the one you used for the order for it to work automatically otherwise you have to request the cash back manually after a months passed. Ditto to above though, amazon is only certain categories!
