We're currently debating a few names, but one I keep coming back to is Fiona. It is a favorite of both mine and my husband's, and I like how it sounds with our last name (which is very Irish). I also like that it's a well known, easy-to-prounounce type name, but is not very popular in America. I think I like that especially because most of the other names I love are very popular (like, top 10).
My main hold-up with it is lack of nicknames. My husband likes the nickname Fi (sounds like fee). I don't love that. I also don't really love Nona.
I suppose I could just make an effort to not let her have a nickname? To whatever extent a mom has control over that. But I know us and we're just sort of nickname people.
Am I missing any other nicknames we could use?
Fiona; I think it's a beautiful name and it's on our list if we have another daughter. I agree that you don't really need a nickname. Our daughter Aria may or may not have one...
