I have been wanting to paint our living room/kitchen for awhile now. I had settled on some colours months ago, until last night. FIL owns a painting business and is here for the holidays so he will be painting the rooms.
Last night we told him what we wanted and what colours and I felt like he criticized every single decision I had made. I felt pretty terrible by the time he left. Now I'm worried I've made the wrong choices.
Right now, our living room is in two colours, half the walls are dark brown, half are light beige. I don't like that there is so much warmth with the brown tones.
I had decided to paint the dark brown Benjamin Moore's Dry Sage. (Here's some examples on another website)

I was planning to keep the light beige walls the same colour. But now I'm worried that the two tones won't go together.
I'm worried that painting the entire space the same colour will be overwhelmingly green. We could paint all but the wall over the kitchen green, possibly. I just don't know anymore.
He wants to start painting on Saturday. I just wish I was confident in my choices, but it's so hard to picture everything in the end.
Here's a diagram. What do you ladies think?
