I read this yesterday and it made me want to get a dog. I have a huge fear that someone will abuse lo, he's 14 months and only family members have babysat him on the weekends.

Aw, this is great! I will forever cherish our dog's love and company during the newborn days, he used to lie outside my babies door when they were screaming and I was trying to comfort them/settle them. And he'd lie across my feet when I was feeding. Best.
But we still are super careful about leaving him anywhere near the kids. -
