Do you use a hip carrier with a soft carrier (besides a sling)? I tried to watch the youtube videos for a hip carry with my Ergo and it felt awkward with my LO in it. Like the strap was right by her face.
My back was out this weekend and she just wanted to be held. In order to get some stuff done around the house I just carried her around in the Ergo and she was happy as could be! Who would have thought a 1 year old who loves to run and play would be happy being carried around by mom! AP Win!

I still put my 20 month old in the Ergo when he's being extremely clingy, never thought I'd need to do it, but you do what you have to, you know?
I tried the hip carry, but I don't like it because it strains my spine too much and I already have a bit of a curve there that I need to avoid aggravating. On my other hip, my right hand isn't free, so it's not as useful for us.

Hehe we stopped putting Lo in the ergo, but sometimes I'm tempted to make DH carry her around in it. I would, but I have a huge belly now!
We've never tried side carrying..! Maybe one day

I've never tried the hip carry but I often use the back carry. It's much more comfortable for me, and better for stuff like washing dishes. We've got it down now, I just lean forward and swing my LO around to the back.

usually when we're out Lo sits in the umbrella stroller or she walks. Miss the days when she wasn't mobile!

Never tried the hip carry, the how to intimidated me too much. We took DD at 18m to Disney World and used the Ergo the entire time, left our stroller in the room.

We do back carry a lot, but hip carry always feels awkward to me, and I think to the girls!

The Ergo hip carry feels so awkward to me. We dostill put DD in the back carry, though, and she's almost 27 months.
