I feel like I'm beating a dead horse here but when I searched old posts, all I found were really old ones (2+ years).
I'm trying to put together a reasonable hospital bag. I don't want to haul a bunch of things I won't need. So what are your must haves and must leaves?
I basically packed: LO outfit (newborn and 0-3 just in case), DH has pajama pants, change of shorts and shirts, flip flops. I have a robe I don't mind throwing out after, some yoga pants for wearing home, nursing tanks, a long cardigan, underwear (just in case), flip flops. We need to grab toiletries and all that, socks, electronics. I have a bag of snacks too. I figured a lot of the post-care and baby items I would get at the hospital.
The hospital provided all the feminine care items I needed there & sent me home with tons more. For baby, I didn't really know what clothing to bring for her, so brought a long gown with elasticized bottom for easy(er) on/off that worked well. However, we didn't bring her any pants & I was SO worried about roughing up her tender skin with the car seat buckles, so I'd recommend a footed pj suit for LO for going home in.
they won't let you leave without it -- check out Car Seats for the Littles or the Carseat Lady on proper install and fit).
Definitely bring snacks and an extension cord. I also brought my own pillow and boppy, which worked out well since you need a lot between sleeping and propping.
