As you can tell, I have a lot of food on my mind lately
WHen did your baby first have hot dogs or sausages? We dont eat pork but we do like the Jenie-o turkey franks and also chicken sausages. I wonder are these too salty for my 11 month old

We give her Chicken Sausage (natural nitrate free) and some breakfast sausage. I think we started when she was like 15 months old?

My little (well big!) guy loves loves loves hotdogs. He was eating them at one year (he is now 13 months), so we probably introduced them earlier. However, he is the kind of baby that needs to eat a lot and wants food that he can put in his mouth by himself.

A bit off topic, not sure how strict you are on pork, but those chicken sausages you show are most likely in a pork casing... I was a bit surprised to find out that most natural sausages are

@Mrs.Someone: Not 100% sure about the ones in the picture because I just found the photo on google but we have a similar one at our local store that has no casing at all and no pork

Probably at 9 months or so. He only eats 1 breakfast sausage (tops) so if its a day with that I try to make sure that he doesn't get too much sodium from anything else that day (crackers, bacon, beans, soy sauce ect). Also, DS loves water so as long as he's drinking it doesn't faze me much.

@Mrsbells: Ahh, ok good Curious how they mold them without a casing. Maybe a real mold?

closer to 2 with charlie, and sometime shortly after 1 with olive. we do breakfast sausage from the local butcher, and applegate farm's organic nitrate-free hot dogs. probably not the healthiest, but they're easy and the kids love them and at least they're nitrate-free!

I can not find info on them, but I've bought Neiman's Ranch all beef hot dogs before with the intention to give them to LO, but he wasn't digging them.
