My friend is moving into her first place in a few weeks and I want to get her something small. She has everything she needs as far as necessities, so I'm kind of stumped? I was thinking maybe a nice jar candle or a bottle of wine...I want to keep it cheaper since money is tight, but I need some more ideas!

Maybe a gift card to Target + a decent bottle of wine? Even just a bottle of wine would be appreciated, I know I loved all the booze I got at my housewarming party!

I like the Target gift card idea. You always need stuff from there. Even could do Home Depot or Lowes, if they bought verses renting.
A bottle of wine wrapped in a dish towel is always a good standby gift as well.

I would probably go for the dish towels and gift card. I personally wouldn't want place mats because i am quite picky! Gift cards are also great too. Moving into a new place is overwhelming because there are so many little things you have to buy. Also, you can never have too many wooden spoons.

An olive oil and balsamic vinegar gift set are always nice! Along with a loaf of fresh bread!

I'm making my girlfriend a housewarming gift today so I thought i'd share. I'm getting an oven mitt, and filling it with spices and spatulas/cooking spoons, as well as a bottle opener, a set of measuring spoons and a recipe to a dish I make that she really likes. Oh, and a bottle of wine.
You can get most of that at the dollar store, so that is like $20.. it's not quality, but it's a nice gesture and since she won't have anything moving in, it'll be nice to have some stuff.
