I cannot get LO to take a nap for anything! We can get her to fall asleep (after a battle), but as soon as we lay her down BAM! Wide awake, smiling, and kicking again. She has to be exhausted and I can tell by looking at her she needs to nap. She was an excellent napper until about 2 weeks ago. We've tried everything I can think of and I'm afraid we're heading for a super ugly meltdown! Anyone else having or had a similar problem? And what did you do? I feel so bad for her. She's 13 weeks if curious.

Yes my baby used to do this too. i realized the trick is to get her to fall asleep when she is already lying down that way I dont have to move her once she falls asleep. I discovered almost by accident that she naps great in her boppy pillow. So I prop the pillow in such a way that her feet are resting against the headboard of our bed and I sit next to her and put her pacifier in her mouth and she will fall asleep on her own for her naps

At that age my LO would only nap in my arms. She'd also wake up and cry if I tried to put her down, so I just didn't. I know it's not good and you want to get them used to napping in their crib, but I figured for my own sanity I just had to do whatever it took to let her nap. Now she's almost a year and naps great in her crib.
I do have friends who have kids that don't nap, and never did. They don't get tired or cranky though. If my LO doesn't nap, she's a cranky pants.

M is 10 weeks and for the past 2 weeks she has not been napping either. Only 15-30minute cat naps.
The only difference is I don't think she actually needs the longer naps! -
@artbee: My LO gets cranky if she doesn't nap too.
@regberadaisy: My LO definitely still needs the longer naps because she'll wake up after like 20-30 minutes, and be happy for about 20 minutes, then she gets cranky again.

Have you tried swing napping? That works for us.

C is 14 weeks and we have the same issue. Only place she will nap is in the swing.

Is she going through a wonder week? LO went through a few days of refusing to nap at 12 weeks. There was one day where she probably only slept for one hour tops during the day. I put her in the swing, and she just sat there swinging away...and not.falling.asleep. It was during this time i just did whatever i could (stroller, car rides, rocking, letting her sleep in my arms) just so she could sleep. I agree with artbee...right now, do whatever works to get her to nap.
Once she got back to normal she is back to being a good napper. Good luck!

My LO is two months and does not nap either. Trying to put her down is pretty much a joke and just starts to piss me off, so we have had to take a more creative approach.
She will fall asleep in the Moby wrap, so sometimes I just walk around and go about my day wearing her, and she will nap that way. I have also learned that if I give her a full feeding and then play with her a bit, she will get tuckered out. Then, it is the perfect time to put her in a stroller and take her for a walk and she will fall asleep that way. She wakes when the stroller stops moving though, so I walk for at least an hour. Those are the only things I have found that work....I hope she outgrows it!!!! Good luck.
