I'm supposed to trigger tonight and do my IUI Saturday, and found it a little strange that the nurse said no more BD (the last time was last night). Assuming I ovulate tomorrow, that means I'd be going from two days before O to the day after O without BD, which to me is a long time and way more than necessary to save up swimmers. Last time the nurse said no BD after the night of trigger and I was thinking this time I might sneak some in the next morning!

I think that with the IUI on Saturday, you'd still be a-ok to go for it tonight. I think I'd just avoid it the night before so he's at max capacity the morning of the IUI. Sending you lots of good vibes for your IUI on Saturday!

I agree, they only told us to abstain the day before.

We usually did 48-72 hours abstinence beforehand. We were dealing with borderline morph. I think the clinic usually told us to abstain 48 hours beforehand.

DH was sick when we did our IUI so we had no BD before or after our IUI (in fact none that month, lol). But when we do another one, we will definitely do it about 36-48 hours before and then definitely 1-2 times right afterward. I agree that they likely just want his sperm to have the best results for the IUI but I heard they replenish about every 2 days. Best of luck!!!

Thanks everyone! I'm hoping to get the best motility we can (last cycle was 38%) which is why I'm trying to keep the sample fresh.

Our RE told us no BD for 3-5 days prior and then to BD the night of and the morning after the IUI. Ironically, I never got a :), so we did not do the IUI and I ended up pregnant.

Our office says to BD the night of the trigger, but abstain the next day (the day before the IUI.). Good luck!
