Did it ruin your bedding or mattress?

My sister said she was worried about that because she had read it could ruin the mattress - so in her third trimester she put a waterproof pad and a bunch of towels under her sheets!

@Mrs. Pen: that is what I did last time but my water didn't break. Maybe I should start doing that again, it's almost time!

Where does one buy a waterproof pad? I can just see my DH recommending getting one of those blue lawn tarp things and throwing some towels down over it...

I got a waterproof sheet from Target since we were planning an hbac...... Wanted all possible delivery "locations" covered.

Huh! I didn't protect it! And my water broke in bed but it was only a slow leak so it didn't matter. Plus I didn't figure out that was what had happened for quite some time.

I've seen them at any home store, kohls, target etc.

@smocks: i just used a doggie pee pad!!! Haha. This time I have a real one that I stole from the hospital last time!

i didn't prepare for it, but luckily there was a waterproof mattress pad on the bed. it actually kept the mattress completely dry. i think u can get them at like target or bed bath and beyond.

@Mrs. Pen: 37.5 weeks! Yup, it really flew, can't believe I am gonna have a newborn soon!

I had just laid down after pacing and of course as soon as I laid down and felt like OK maybe it's easing up and I can rest a bit my water broke. It wasn't a gush though, I just swung my legs off the bed and onto the hardwood. Maybe a bit got on the sheets but that was all put in the laundry while I was in the hospital.
