I know that I want a second (and a third! but I only have DH on board for 2, right now) but I can't decide when!
I would love to have a house before #2, but I also want them closer in age (2-3 years) as opposed to 4-5 years. So here's hoping.
I'm also terrified of splitting my attention...and how could I ever love another baby as much as I love my daughter? It's scary!

We decided our minimum planned child spacing (2 years) and backtracked to decide when to start trying. It took us 13 months to conceive S, so we are prepared and comfortable with it taking a while again this time.

we knew we wanted 4, and dh got baby fever when LO was around 6 months... he somehow convinced me we might as well go for it! 
so we did.... they are going to be 15 months apart... just holding my breath until he/she arrives!
i think for us it was just a don't think too hard, just dive in kind of thing only worked b/c dh was 110% on board, and the instigator also knowing we would like 4 made it easier to space the first two closely.

We tried to backtrack to get a 2.5 year space, but you know what they say about the best laid plans!
They are 21 months apart!
