Just curious if anyone felt differently the day they went into labor. Not labor symptoms, but just "off." Did you have a feeling it was going to happen soon?

I felt perfectly fine and energetic. I reached a major milestone at work, pigged out on a feast of Indian curry, went on lots of walks, and popped out a baby at 3am. But I went straight from pre-labor to transition. I'm not normal

My labor started with my water randomly breaking at 9pm (39w+ a few days). I think I worked that morning and had absolutely no clue anything was up!

I had a headache, a slight upset stomach, and was tired - was trying to take a nap when the contractions started. Aside from the headache, though, there wasn't anything to really distinguish what I felt from normal end of pregnancy stuff.

I didn't feel any different from how I'd been feeling. I was 40+2, so I knew it had to be sometime soon. My water broke out of the blue at 2 am, and baby was born at 9am.

I felt a little wet down there but when I stood up or didn't wear panties I didn't think much of it. I had some period like cramps that evening. Went to bed like normal, and then woke up at 415 to pee. Had a contracation and realized my water broke, slow leak.
First pregnancy, I felt normal all day. Water broke, huge gush, when I just got up off the couch.

Both times I realized I was in labor in the morning. The first one started overnight but wasn't that strong til morning and still took two more days. The second one I woke up at 3am with what I thought might be contractions or might be stomach pain, realized it was labor by 7am, was at the hospital a few hours later. Hoping if we have a third it will be like the second! ETA, and nope I didn't know it would be that day. With #1 it was just before my due date but with #2 it was a few days earlier than that and I honestly thought I would be pregnant longer!

I didn't feel any different than I had for the past week or so, which was totally miserable, until about 2 pm I felt really tired and achy and laid down. After an hour or so that turned into contractions.

I felt normal, or as normal as you can feel in the third trimester. I went to my 36 week appointment. Shortly after I started feeling a little weird/crampy but assumed it was due to the cervical check at my appointment. It continued all day/early evening, thought I might be in labor shortly before midnight and realized it was the real deal a few hours later.
I did have a NEED to finish my pre baby shopping that day. Went out in the freezing rain, feeling like crap, just because I HAD to pick everything up that day.

With my newest baby, I had her at 36w5d. I made both girls and dh sit down and eat breakfast all together ( and even took a picture incase it was our last breakfast as a family of 4.) the rest of the day was totally normal, installed the car seat, went to my moms for dinner. Came home and got ready for bed, then had a baby 3 hours later. Totally random!

Felt perfectly normal until my first contraction. They were REALLY far apart for the first few (an hour?) but super intense.

With LO2, I felt fine all day but came home from a great day with a sore throat and some aches and pains. I didn't feel off, baby-wise, at all so went to bed thinking a cold was coming on. Slept for about 2 hours and woke up to painful contractions. Beyond the sore throat, which it turned out was a cold starting, I felt pretty normal right before labor started. (I was 3 days early.)
With LO1, the day I went into labor I felt very slow. Turns out I was already in labor but just didn't know it yet. No major signs though (I was 2 days overdue).

i felt really dizzy on and off the weekend before i gave birth (on a tuesday). i would lie down and feel like i was still falling. i mentioned this to my OB on the monday and was immediately sent to the hospital for monitoring for preeclampsia. they tested me and concluded that definitely wasn't it, so sent me home. five hours later my water broke. no real theories on why exactly i was feeling dizzy but i'm sure it was some kind of process starting!

I couldn't pinpoint anything in particular, but just felt "off" all day. Took a nap, woke up and went to the bathroom, and my water broke in a big gush.

I nested HARD. I work from home, and I was really focused on my to-do list, but kept stopping because I'd notice something needed dusted or put away.
We went out to dinner, watched Sopranos, and went to bed - all of that seemed totally normal. Labor started 15 minutes after laying down.

With DS1, I felt off all day and didn't want to leave the house. I had contractions on and off. Then after my nightly shower I felt sick and once the puking started, I knew it was the real deal.
With DS2, I had my bloody show and felt crampy. I had a dr. appointment and since I was 4 cm they sent me to the hospital to be monitored. I wasn't admitted until hours later and didn't start active labor until they broke my water.

I hadn't slept well the night before, so when I had the first contraction at around 7 am, I knew that was the day. I was feeling pretty terrible, but I knew the key was moving around, so I went about my business, mopping the floors, baking a cake, etc. I couldn't eat, but in hindsight, I should have.

Better than I had the previous few weeks! I'd had tons of contractions (more than usual) the day before and figured something was probably going to happen sooner rather than later, but I actually wasn't experiencing any contractions or pain at all the day of when I went into my 39 week appointment and was told I was 8 cm dilated.

I felt achy and generally angry and unpleasant for 3-4 days before I went into labor. I also didn't deliver until 41w5d...so...maybe you just feel achy, angry, and unpleasant after 41wks of pregnancy!

Well, I woke up at 6am in labor, so I'll use the day before. I was just really cranky all day and in a foul mood, super aggravated with my husband. Ran a ton of errands. Felt okay, but I remember my belly felt sore- like I had pulled muscles or something.
Woke up at 6am, water leaking, thought hmmm... these cramps feel different. At hospital by 8:30 in pretty hard labor. Baby born at 1pm.

I felt fine. I was 38w5d so I didn't think I would be going into labor for another week or more.
I did have labor signs though. I was cramping overnight and lost my mucus plug. My water broke around 1:30 the next afternoon

DD1 - Induced so no story there
DD2 - I was SICK AS A DOG the night before labor. Apparently my water had broke over the weekend and I got an infection. I was having chills, going to the bathroom every hour, plus contractions. So I think I was in labor regardless since my water broke, but maybe being sick just accelerated it!?

I felt fine (well, with LO2 I had a serious cold, possibly sinus infection or bronchitis or both, but nothing weird that was pregnancy related). However, for both, I had felt for about a week that I was "ready", and with LO2 in particular, we were convinced he would come early.
With both, my water broke spontaneously at 39 weeks while I was in bed (LO1 at 8am bless her, LO2 at 2am). They both arrived about 8 hrs later.

@schubr03: Totally normal and I was 40+4. The only reason I knew was I saw the mucus plug (sorry, TMI)!

I lost my mucus plug that morning and had some bloody show. By lunchtime, I was feeling kind of crampy and uncomfortable and figured something was happening. Contractions started around 5:00pm and were pretty close together (4-5 min) from the get-go. I went to the hospital at about 9:30pm and was 4cm. They admitted me and my son was born the next morning. I was exactly 39 weeks.

I was extra miserable with both but that's just being 39+ weeks so it wasn't new/different. First time I came home to work at home because I felt so awful, the walk home turned up the contractions to be close together, so I guess it was early labor making me feel bad but I couldn't tell at the time. The second time I had labor that started and stopped the night before, but I had no idea when it would start again. Went the whole day feeling mad it had stopped. Contractions woke me up before midnight and baby was born at 4:30 Both times my water didn't break until well into labor, contractions came first and bloody show with it told me it was real.

My first, my water spontaneously broke at 34w4d. He was born about 14 hours later.
Still waiting on this guy to make his appearance... seems like there are a lot of different ways to go into labor. Anxiously awaiting something to happen!

With DS1 - My back was killing me all day, I couldn't get comfortable and I couldn't sit still. We were running errands most of the day, had lunch with friends and then dinner with the inlaws. My water broke around 1:30am, I was 37 weeks 5 days.
With DS2 - I had been having contractions for a few days but nothing I could time and they would fizzle when I moved around. Other than that I felt fine, I had been off work since 36 weeks so everything was done and all I had to do was relax. I had some cleaners come to our house and do a deep clean, I ended up going into labor that night.

With my first I felt fine physically but did have an unusual burst of energy to finish decorating the nursery and hang some prints (water broke that night at 39+3)
With my second I felt off..tired and cramps all day after a membrane sweep that morning. I also had a cold though so who knows. I didn't accept it was labor until later in the day tho. I was 40+2.
