So, Ive read tons of birth stories and am wondering how my experience in May will stack up to my thoughts on childbirth as compared to those stories. Any thoughts?

My labor was different then anything I read. I thought I would be walking around and such, but, I couldn't get out of the bed! I also didn't realize how bad the contractions hurt. I thought my SO would be helpful, he wasn't. I thought after my baby was born, I would get to hold him, but he was sent away because he wasn't getting enough oxygen. I thought at least people would stay with me after DS was born, but after the Dr sewed me up, I was alone (everyone went to look at DS through the nursery window).
I think the best thing is just to be open minded. Know that what you want to happen may not, and things that are unexpected could happen

I also didn't realize that I would crack my tailbone and not be able to sit or walk or anything after for WEEKS! The post labor was not at all what I expected, but I didn't really know what to expect with that!

My L&D experience was not what I was prepared for. It went way faster than I read and my contractions were not what I expected. It wasn't worse but the timetable really messed with me.

Mine was pretty normal. Go to the hospital, get sent home because I'm not dilating, go back, get admitted, have epidural, rest and sleep, have the baby.

Nothing like what I read or heard. I thought the epidural would stop the pain. nope. I thought I'd get to walk, nope. I also thought it'd be shorter than 15hrs.
