i'm curious to see how P will react to it. did your toddler try to breastfeed because the baby was doing it? did they show absolutely no interest and it was no big deal?

She would jokingly come close and make the same noises as E nursing, it was pretty funny actually!

I'm wondering about this also. My DD will be 18 months when LO #2 is here. I wasn't planning on weaning early but now can't decide what to do.

My First LO is almost 3 - she understands that baby sister (who is 2 weeks) only drinks mommy's boobies' milk. She also understands that she doesn't have milk in her boobies.
She was once drinking her own milk in a cup and while little sister was nursing, she raised her cup to my boob and said cheers! She also likes to help me get the pump ready.

DS was 17 months old when Dd was born. He's never even done anything about it, I guess it's his normal.

She watched us like a creeper for the first few weeks until she lost interest.

I don't have a second LO but my young nephew was extremely intrigued. He kept trying to climb in my lap too!

My older DS (21 mos when baby came) hasn't really paid attention to the actual nursing but is more bothered by the fact I can't play with him

My son had been weaned for maybe 4 or 5 months and he started nursing again when his sister was born!

@sungirl: this is my daughter exactly! She and Baby bro are 22 months apart, so she doesn't really care. However, she seems to only ask for "hug?" when she sees me taking out the Brest Friend.

DD1 just watched us intently for the first few weeks and then lost interest (she was 19 months old). In the past month or so, at 24-25 months, whenever DD2 cries, she'll come and grab my hand, take me to DD2 and say milk! Milk! She's also started bringing her monkey lovey over to me, pulling on my shirt and trying to stuff monkey in my shirt saying milk! Monkey milk! I guess she wants me to BF her lovey?! Lol, it's pretty hilarious!

Our oldest will be 3 next month. She understands that my breasts make milk and the baby can only drink milk.
She says "that baby eats my moms boob!"
She asked my mom if the baby will eat her (my moms) boob, too, or she'll want sissys (Chloe's) boob. We've had to explain she doesn't make any milk but can when she is a mommy!
She seems fascinated by it and sometimes likes to snuggle with us while little sis eats.

DD#1 was 2 yo when DD#2 was born. She watched closely for the first day, and then started getting her baby doll and would sit next to us and "breast feed" her doll.

My LO was 21 months, she wasn't that interested. Every once in awhile she would sit next to us and rest her cheek on the other breast and a couple of times she lifted her shirt and tried to stick a nursing pad on her chest, but that's it!

LO's are 20 months apart. Mostly doesn't show interest. One time he said "I wanna bite" and tried to expose my other breast, but took "no" for an answer without fussing. He mostly just makes sucky faces and says "baby eat"!

My toddler didn't like his brother drinking "mama milk" because he wasn't weaned yet. He slapped him on the head a couple of times but than got used to it. First 2 months was hard on the poor guy but now he absolutely loves his brother and is very protective of him at 6 months old.
