I am about to order a large haul from ON and Gap but before I do I want to make sure I've got my sizes right.
Do they run true to size? Bigger? Smaller? Short?
Thanks in advance!!

Gap runs a little big. My son is 5 mos and still fits in both their 0-3 mos and 3-6 mos stuff is still a little roomy. Carters is very small, so he's been out of 0-3 mos for awhile.
Old Navy is true to size - not quite as big as Gap, but not as small as carters. He is wearing 3-6 mos in ON.

I needed some more NB sized stuff...I added a bunch to my cart online early this morning, go to check out and only one item was available! I was so bummed

I love babygap because they give inches and weight along with their sizes. I would say they're pretty true to size.. LO wears 12-18 and 18-24 month separates (room to grow) and 18-24 month onesies fit her well with some room to grow at 16 months. The 12-18 are tight.

Agree that Gap is slightly big and ON is true to size. Also beware that ON shrinks a decent amount in the wash.

Gap is wider, Toddler Girl almost never wore Gap onesies because she was slim and tall, so they just didn't fit well.

@Mrs. Yoyo: would you say then they run small if they shrink in the wash?

I wouldn't say small necessarily ... but to give you a reference point, Baby Y is about 50th percentile for weight and 85th percentile for height right now. He's 13 months. The 12-18 stuff fits well right now, but not much room to grow. He can also wear their 18-24 month stuff.
It's like any 100 percent cotton stuff, I guess. You don't really notice it that much unless you buy it when it fits PERFECTLY and then you wash it and realize it's now a bit snug!

gap has been pretty true to size except the pants run a bit long, but that could be because charlie is short! old navy does tend to run a little smaller than gap.

I agree that Old Navy seems to run smaller than Gap. Although the 18-24 month sizes are pretty small compared to other 24 month clothing. I'm not the biggest fan of ON sizing. I thought Carters ran pretty true to size, compared with other brands we had. The Carter's 24 month onesies are the only ones that DS still has a little room in.

For us gap has always been big. DD's 0-3 month jeans from there still fall off even though she's almost 2 months. Old Navy is slightly big too. The 0-3 month ON onesies just started to fit (LO is in 50th percentile for height and weight).

I find Gap runs big, at 3 months Sawyer is still able to fit in a NB outfit from Gap, and a 0-3 month romper. He fits Carters size 3-6 snugly, Old Navy 3-6 month snugly, and 6-9 months in some sleepers.

I find that Gap runs pretty true to size. My little one is in the 50th percentile for weight and length and fits perfectly into his 0-3 at 10 weeks.

@TurtleDoves: glad to be of service!! I had a brutal awakening when I realized how small some sizes were in comparison with bigger brands.
