especially when they're in a "clique" and not in a park setting?

Just got back from a walk with LO. And twice the same group of moms with similar aged kids passed by us. I tried to look their way various times to say hi. And LO kept looking back at them and wanting to say. The moms didn't look our way once although the kids did.

I would love to make some mom friends in the neighborhood for LO's sake! Ugh. And I never see them at the park down the street. I feel like they all just walk around the neighborhood together and then hang out at each other's homes.

And I hate to say it but I'm really noticing a divide of the Jewish families in our neighborhood versus the other families. From what I've heard from other families they have a real distaste for the Jewish families. And I don't know why! I wonder if that's why they (the Jewish moms) just stay together as a clique?

Anyway, just rambling.

How do you approach groups of moms in your neighborhood?
