I got a diaper bag backpack!

I usually stuff a couple diapers, wipes, my keys, phone, & credit card into my Skip Hop pronto.

A backpack is a great idea! I have a 12x12" shoulder bag, so I will throw a bottle, diaper, and wipes in along with my usual purse stuff. I leave the diaper bag in the car, just in case.

we have a diaper bag we don't use anymore. honestly, i throw an extra insert or two (we cloth diaper) a small ziploc of wipes and some diaper cream in a big ziploc and throw that in my purse. i can see it getting harder when we need more stuff, like food, spoons, water, etc. but for now i just don't carry the diaper bag when we go out.

Well, we live in NYC, so we sometimes walk for hours. If we are going to be out all day and not in car or someone's house with a kid, I bring some extras (an outfit, an extra gdiaper). But I use the disposable inserts in the gdiapers so it is probably a lot less to carry. What about using disposables just on days you are out a lot?

Oh, and yes I admit, my purse tends to be large. It can usually hold an ipad, flats, wallet, magazine, and tons of other junk.

I refuse to buy a diaper bag. I purchased a larger across the body purse that I can fit my diapers and portable changing pad in. I wear the purse beneath my baby ktan.

@pastemoo: I've used the Skip Hop Via Backpack with both the Ergo and Beco Gemini. To get something out of the bag, yes, I have to take it off first.

I throw a diaper in the Ergo pocket (and my wallet) I keep the diaper bag in the car.
