I just had to strap him in his high chair, turn on the tv and get on the floor (no easy feat at 8 months preggo) and wrestle his other foot!

We trim his nails after N's bath. It takes DH and I to do it though. We can't do it alone.

haha she sits on my lap and watches tv. or watches me clip them! I make up a silly song, "clip clip clip!" or something. I only do a couple at a time, lol. as a result, they kind of grow at different paces and make it easier

I don't. Man, it would be like wrestling a bear. She never seems to need it - maybe they just break off? It isn't an issue.

I sit him on my lap, facing away from me, and put something he'll find interesting on the television (usually Elmo or Super Why). I do it often enough that he doesn't fight too hard anymore.
Or I wait until D is home, and he holds him while playing a video game or something and I do it then (although I prefer holding him because of the angle).

My LO LOVES having her toenails and fingernails clipped! She brings me the clippers and begs me to do it. She also loves having her fingers painted....

@sarac: omg it is EXACTLY like wrestling a bear!
I sit him in my lap with the tv on to trim his fingers and he usually doesn't mind since I have to do it twice a week. He likes to hold a second clipper in his other hand though, so it's like something we're doing together haha. Toe nails are a whole different story though.

@sarac: its totally like wrestling a bear!! Haha that's why I do it when she's asleep. I feel like a spelunker with my flashlight app for light and the clippers in my hand. I've tried when she's awake, and I might as well have been sticking her with a hot poker.

@sarac: I don't either...DH and I were just wondering if it was weird that we haven't had to cut them yet at 14 months

Put her on bathroom counter facing the mirror, and sing ABCs! And then blow on her toes as we go toe to toe. No idea how we got to this point, but it all works and I need to catch my breath when it's all done!

during story time after bath, while dh puts on a show with books
i have done it by myself too tho, i just sit him in my lap in our glider and he's usually okay

I sit with her in the glider and distract her by singing stupid songs or telling her what exciting things we have planned for the day.
