I used to say I would only consider this for a sister or very close family member/friend. But, now that I have had my own baby, I would be incredibly blessed to be able to give that gift to someone else, even a stranger. I will definitely consider it once our own family is complete.
My daughter's daycare teacher informed me she most likely will not be able to have children of her own. She's so awesome with children and I would absolutely offer to do it for her when the time comes.

I don't think we could ever afford it personally but I think it's such a wonderful option and allows many who would never otherwise be able to have a child that opportunity.

If money wasn't a concern, I would absolutely consider a surrogate. After our first IVF cycle failed, DH and I started talking more about what we would do if IVF doesn't work for us, and I think we are leaning more towards adoption. I would be too worried about spending all that money and not having it work with a surrogate.

My friend and her husband have male/female factors and she has miscarried twice. I think about how cool it would be to help them out but I'm not a very good preggo - thus only (probably) doing it once more for ourselves.

I missed this post earlier... It's a beautiful short movie about a family who is using a gestational surrogate.
