I just repeat repeat repeat repeat. I am so tired of talking.

Seriously. My three year old is an expert at tuning me out. if it's not something she wants to do, it's a huge battle. I give time warnings for transitions and just try to stay as calm as possible but omg it's exhausting!

@travelgirl1: ugh - we've had some not good listening days lately...most of the time I know she's tired so I know there's a reason, but it's so hard. I've tried to draw parallels from her books and tv shows (kwazi from the octonauts isn't a good listener, so we talk about him a lot) and I let her know that when she's a good listener we have more time to do fun things. I praise when good listening is happening and remind her what good listening means when she's being mischievous...I know A and S have different personalities, but maybe you could talk about how the paw patrol dogs listen really well and how that's a good thing for everyone (help more people)? It's such a hard age!

@travelgirl1: Time outs worked for us at 3, they totally hurt DS's feelings, but he got it that we weren't playing. Now at 4.5, he doesn't usually care unless others are around, then he's embarrassed they see him in trouble or he's upset to miss out on the fun.
