I have always liked to have a big, birthday weekend and celebrate with family and friends. But, due to being pregnant and all of us recovering from colds, we're just taking it easy, going to brunch and relaxing.

Mom always makes me a home cooked meal of my choice so we go there for dinner and relatives come over. Then DH takes me out another time.

I like to celebrate with multiple groups of friends separately for lunch or dinner since not all of them know each other well.

I have decided from now on it'll just be DH, I and baby on our actual birthdays. Celebrating with family will be dinner out. Last year on MY birthday I ended up helping DH made my birthday dinner bc no one else helped him. So yeah, on my birthday I cooked and cleaned for others. No more.

Pre baby? Lots of margaritas.
Now, just hanging out at home and eating pizza, and getting permission from DH to buy an expensive pair of shoes.

We do a "family feast" and celebrate several birthdays at once. My mom, both sisters and I all have birthdays in Jan/Feb so we each cook a dish or two and we all get together to celebrate.

Happy Birthday lovely lady!
Usually since mine is a holiday, we go for a hike since the weather is nice and then go out to dinner. I prefer a nice relaxing day anyway!

Every year my DH takes me to high tea at the Windsor Arms Hotel and then we do random acts of kindness for every year I've been alive (so I'm turning 27, we'll be doing 27 random acts of kindness)!

@pui: what a great tradition!
We don't do much for birthdays usually. My preference is to go out for sushi! I's a rare treat that we both love

I like having a big breakfast with all the fixins - pancakes, fruit, eggs, bacon, grits... And just have a relaxing day with family

I like low-key celebrations. My birthday this year will also be my first mother's day, so I'm hoping for a nice brunch out somewhere family-friendly with mimosas (I'll be able to drink by that point, hooray!) with my husband and our little one. And a bubble bath either before or after! That sounds like the perfect day for introverted me.

I would like a family or friends get together with a nice meal and a funfetti cake. But I usually work or DH works so I spend it alone. I am not one for planning my own party neither!

I like to go out to a nice dinner and have a couple cocktails.

I haven't had a birthday party since I turned 18.
I like to spend my bdays quietly with my family.

I love brunch! For birthdays I like to go out to dinner with DH and then on the closest Sunday we have our parents and siblings and nieces over for cake and ice cream.

@BabyBoecksMom: hope you had a relaxing and fun birthday weekend!
I love getting a babysitter and having a date night at with a nice dinner and drinks (obviously no drinks if I'm pregnant on my birthday)

Happy Birthday!
I prefer quiet birthdays, usually lunch out with LO and then an adults' dinner out.

I'm turning 30 on tuesday! Today, my mother in law babysat and my husband and I went out to brunch. Tomorrow night I'm going to dinner and a Big Freedia concert with my girlfriends (so excited!). Then the day after thanksgiving my family is going to have a little cake for me so that I can celebrate all with them.
I prefer a few little celebrations to one big one - total introvert! For my birthday gift, my husband is detailing our car for me. So excited about that.

I like low-key birthdays (mine is this week!).
I'm going to make my own birthday cake, and spend time with my boys. If I weren't pregnant, I would have a nice bottle of champagne to go with the cake.

Mine are always low key - each year my mum, dh (and now lo) go to a resturant for dinner together. This year I went out with some friends for cocktails the night after which was pretty cool but only really do dinner usually.

I usually like to have a low-key dinner party at home (not always sit down--it's kind of more fun when we put food out on the table and people mill around) for my bday. this year is my 30th though so i think we're going out--dh is supposed to organize! but since I'm pregnant we can't do the normal go out to a bar thing--we might go somewhere that has food and something like bowling or minigolf or shuffleboard so im not just awkwardly watching other people drink, haha. but i don't know...for dh's 30th, i organized this huge dinner and bar thing and invited a bunch of his out of town friends in to stay with us, I feel like my 30th is going to be much quieter in comparison! I'd love to do a quick babymoon just with dh, like somewhere warm and relaxing, but my bday weekend is smack between work trips, and we aren't going to have time for a fun vacation at all before baby.

I just had a birthday, it was pretty low key. My family took me out to dinner one night and then DH and I had a date night. It was nice.
