I'm getting a professional blowout tomorrow - of my favorite treats! I want it to last and look fresh until Sunday. I already know the basic tips: satin pillowcase, shower cap, dry shampoo, scrunchies instead of elastics. Any other ways to keep it fresh though?

Oh wow! I've never tried to make a blowout last that long! Mine usually goes bad once I sleep on it... Or it goes flat after 1-2 days.

@Mrs. Pen: I've heard people can make them last a week! Usually I can get it to look good the next day, but the 3rd day it usually looks pretty limp. I'm crossing my fingers I can keep it going though!

@Mrs. Pen: DH got me a gift card to a "blowout bar" that does only blowouts. It's $30 + tip, so not cheap! My stylist includes mine with my regular cuts, which are $40 + tip, but she also charges $30 for just a blowout.

The only thing I would add to your list is that I brush my hair upside down on subsequent days. Putting a Velcro roller under the hair at the crown on the third day and hairspraying it helps for me too.
I paid $35 in Philly for a blowout which I think is pricey but she was constantly being written up as the best in Philadelphia for blowouts and I swear she was worth every penny! I have yet to find anyone else I would pay even $20 to but my hair is a pain so no one does it well.

@Penny Lane: I am starting to feel kind of bougie for getting a blowout, haha! But I really would rather spend $30 on a blowout than a mani/pedi, which is why DH got it for me as a gift!

@daniellemybelle: I read an article about an important career woman and she would get her hair blown out on a Tuesday night and keep it until Friday or Saturday. Of course, she worked out in her done hair, so I think that's why it didn't last as long. She would sleep with it pulled back and then revive it with Velcro rollers and a blast of heat from her blow dryer. I know I can keep my hair looking nice if I just pull it back and keep my hands out of it.

My hair is super wavy, and I'm terrible about doing anything with it myself, so I always enjoy the next couple of days!The girl who does my hair has a client who comes in every Monday morning for one, somehow she makes it last for most of the week! Pretty much the same tips you mentioned.

I can blow my hair out and straighten it and it lasts a full week, with small touchups from my flat iron, for me. I think a lot of it is hair type. my hair is thick, dry, coarse and not prone to oiliness or being flat. My hair holds styling very well.
I would say if you're losing volume, rub some mousse into your scalp and blow dry your hair upside down for a minute, or invest in some large rollers, and it should stay bouncy and lovely for you.
