I've got a basket inside one of her dresser drawers to hold socks, mittens, hats, bows. Then each drawer is organized by size and then style. Anything of nicer quality is hung up in her closet(and p.s. I just ironed a ton of stuff after thinking about your marathon laundry sesh)

I have most of DS's clothes in drawers... Right now, 1 drawer is short sleeves, 1 is long sleeves, 1 is bottoms/pants, 1 is sleepers/one piece outfits. We use his dresser as the changing table so diapers/cream/etc is in 1 drawer and the last drawer is extra crib sheets and a few extra receiving blankets. I have a basket on top with an open pack of wipes/lotion. I would hang up button down shirts, but his closet doesn't have that yet I do keep towels and washcloths in the bathroom. Oh, and I have a little divider thing in a drawer with socks too. Hope that helps a little! Sometimes the drawers get rearranged when I change out the sizes, but this is how it is right now!

ETA: I have a bin of the next size up in his closet and a bin to put things he has outgrown as well.

I use old shoe boxes for organizing socks, legwarmers and shoes.

In the early days his drawers/closet was organized by size- NB in the top drawer, 2nd drawer was 0-3 mos and so on.

Now that he's older I socks, leg warmers, swimsuit and hats in the top drawer
short and long sleeve shirts in the second drawer with shorts
pants/jeans and sweatshirts in the third drawer
and in the last drawer is clothes in the next size up so I have them on hand as he grows.

In the closet: I hang one-piece outfits (romper style), sweaters, dress shirts, jackets and coats.

I also bought a hanging organized where fold all his onesies in little fabric drawers.

We just had shelving, First shelf had boxes with little stuff: socks, hats, bibs. Second shelf had short sleeve tops, long sleeve tops and bottoms. Third had blankets, burp cloths, and pjs.
Fourth had cloth diapers. Fifth had clothes in the next size up stored in two large boxes.

@babyjmama: that's so funny! did your baby always fit into the corresponding sizes with their age? My son is 9 mos old and still fits in 3-6 mos onesies!!

I ended up just keeping his current size in the drawers/closet so as not to get confused.

@Mrs. Pen: No, he was pretty small at first, just long and skinny (83% height, 63% weight haha!) but he's started to chunk out. He could still wear NB at 4-6 weeks because he was so long/lean. Now he's quickly growing out of his 6 mo clothes at 5 mo. Chunky monkey!

I did pretty much the same as everyone else....
Hung formal stuff according to size
Folded jeans/pjs and Onesies in size organized drawers
Used divider baskets from Ikea for socks and loose stuff and then put them in his two top drawers
Then I used the drawers in his bathroom for all lotions and soaps/shampoos
And use the little closet in the bath for all his burp rags,towels,and wash cloths
Oh...and I put all blankets and boxes of diapers on the shelves in his closet (up at the top where your supposed to put folded clothes)
Thanks to my husband...this organization technique has to be redone every week because he just can.not.follow.it...for the life of him:/

Socks are in a drawer in a plastic shoe box, drawers are sorted by size (3 mo, 6, 9, everything else). Obviously this changes as she outgrows stuff. When that happens I grab the next size up that isn't already in a drawer and replace it. Drawers contain bloomers, leggings, pants, onesies. I hang up everything else and sort that by size. Towels, washcloths, medicine, ointment, etc are in he bathroom which is where we change her. I also keep a tub in her closet which I fill as she outgrows items.
