I'm getting ready to move my son from his bassinet in our room to his crib, but I'm wondering what to do about the possibility that he will bang his head on the crib bars when he starts moving around in there. This is what bumpers were made for, but of course we aren't "allowed" to use those anymore! Just wondering if anyone has a good (and safe) solution.

We still use bumpers. Our issue wasn't with LO hitting her head, it was with her limbs getting stuck between the bars.

My guy is 9 months and I find I mostly have to put him in the crib with his feet close to one end. As he wiggles he moves 'up' until his head touches the bars. Usually if I start him at the 'bottom', his head never gets there. He doesn't move much in his sleep....sleep sack helps with this, I think.

Our LO is a crib gymnist. She flips around 360 degrees on two differen axes!! Tummy to back, head where feet go. They don't move quick enough to thwap their heads hard, and they're pretty crafty, when it's uncomfortable she mobes away from the bars.

I'm wondering if we should use bumpers, even though we're not supposed to. LO is constantly getting her feet/legs caught in the rungs of the crib, then screams bloody murder, not because she's hurt, but because she's angry! What to do, what to do...

The mesh bumpers should help with limbs getting caught in the bars.

He's never hit is head in almost 10 weeks in the crib (he's almost 12 weeks old). However, he stuck his feet (while in a swaddleme blanket) through the slats and freaked me out. I bought breathable bumpers and installed them a few days later.

I whacked DS head turning him around tonight and I gasped and he laughed!! He's 5 months.
