Sometimes I can't tell! How do you keep track?

I last nursed on my left boob. Before, I could just feel my boobs and know which was more full but now, I just go by memory. But LO feeds from both in one feeding so I don't actually pay such close attention.

haha sometimes I forget--especially during the middle of the night. During the day I feed both sides so it's not an issue.

I need a system! Right now, I sit thinking really hard trying to remember- usually until my husband asks me what's wrong. Haha. I think I get it right most of the time so far.

I've heard of people using a safety pin on their bra strap to mark which side they should nurse on next. Or a bracelet that they switch. I'm definitely going to have to come up with some kind of system like that.

I have an app on my iPhone that keeps track of which side and times how long LO feeds for and I can see how long since her last feeding.

I had a breastfeeding bracelet I got from a vendor on Etsy. I would switch wrists according to which side I nursed on last, and it also had number beads and charms you could move to indicate what time you nursed last. Eventually my boobs regulated out and my left boob was notoriously worse than my right, so I'd nurse on the left side first every time, but I still used the bracelet to keep track of the time. I LOVED that thing and can't wait to use it again!! This time I'm going to order a new one in a different color (my last one had beads that looked just like juicy pear jelly bellies!)

That's going to be fun with two- apparently it is important to alternate them so that if one has a stronger suck , they get a run at each boob so the supply is nice and even. All the twin mums I've had contact with have used the feeding charts from the hospital and found them a lifesaver.
I like the bracelet idea though, that seems simple enough, if it was non precious, didn't need to come off for shower etc.

This isn't something I've ever really kept track of. Simply because I've always had to nurse on both sides every feeding. And I have to switch between the 2 often because my silly LO always falls asleep. So now I'm just used to starting on my right, ending on my left.

I almost always have a hair tie around my wrist, so I just put it on the wrist of the side I had last nursed on.

@aunt pol: I absolutely loved it! It's made of memory coil wire so I can just pull it off and put back on after shower, and first thing when I wake up. I always needed a watch too (to time his naps) so I just kept them together all the time.

@mediagirl: I use one called Total Baby. You can track diaper changes, feedings, sleep times, baths, tummy time, etc. At first I used to track everything on a paper chart but having the app is so much easier plus it puts the whole day in chart form if you want.

I just use a stretchy beaded bracelet and switch hands after feeding time, whichever hand has the bracelet I start with.

In the beginning I used a hair tie but now I write it down in a notebook along with other information for DD. I also have a couple iphone apps, but I am bad about using them.

I use the FeedBaby app to track which side and what time we nursed. He usually nurses both sides for at least 10 min. each but this makes it easy if he doesn't. I have a harder time remembering what TIME he nursed!
