We use them for:
dirty diapers
DH uses them to put his lunch in for work
to line the bathroom trash
dirty cat litter
We should probably invest in a re-usable bag but since we get so much use out of them in other ways, I don't feel as bad.

We have reusable bags, so I don't have that many. We use them to carry dog bowls when we travel.

Mostly to pick up my dog's poop! Also bathroom trash liners. I do try to use reusable bags as much as possible, but I'm always forgetting to bring them since I usually go to the grocery store after work (and take the train, so it's not like I can leave them in the car).
Paper bags are our recycling bins.

DH brings his lunch to work in a plastic bag every day- I can't convince him to get a proper lunch box. We also use them as puppy poop bags when DH cleans the back yard up.
I prefer the grocery bins to the reusable bags.

All kinds of stuff. Super gross diapers. I dump gross old food in them before putting in the trash bag to help prevent nasty spills and to cover the odor better. If I'm sending something to someone's house I send it in a bag. I just love them. I don't get them too often, though, because a lot of the stores around me only offer paper bags for purchase or you can bring in your own reusable bags.

for food-related garbage so our big garbage doesn't get stinky, bathroom/bedroom trashcan liners, poopy diapers, to put shoes in when we need to pack a suitcase.

Food related garbage/meat trimmings and bones. I almost always use reusable bags but I like to have a stash for stinky food garbage.

We use them as our trash bags, even in the kitchen. We've never bought actual trash bags.
