I'd like to start building a stash. My pediatrician said LO probably needs about 3oz per feeding. I'm wondering how to store my pumped breastmilk - in 1 oz portions? 3 oz portions? What do you all do?

I store mine in 6 ounce portions and make however many bottles I need.

I store it the way i pump it. Whatever I get from each side I pump I store it that way so if I get 4oz from the left side and 5 oz from the right side I 'll freeze one bag of 4oz and one bag of 5oz

1 ounce portions would take up a TON of bags which can get expensive (Lansinoh are the best BTW).
I would go ahead and do 3 ounce portions. Over time as she ate more I increased to 4-5 ounce portions.
Once I dethawed milk I tried to use it within 24 hours.

I freeze 5-6 oz portions- you can fit more in, but the bags freeze flatter with 5-6 oz's in them, so it is easier to store. Also at 5+ months, that is about how much I put in each bottle when feeding him anyway.

Right now I do 2oz portions since that is usually all I pump. Once he gets bigger hopefully it will be more. I'm still on maternity leave so I haven't gotten into a pumping routine yet.

If you want to do 1 oz portions, you could put them into ice cube trays freeze them and store the ice cubes all together in one bag. This may be useful when you start solids too because you can use one ice cube at a time. I usually just stored it as I pumped it but we never went through our stash for a number of reasons.

I store my milk in 1, 2, 3, and 4 oz. bags. I basically store exactly what I pump except now that I have more output, I only store as much as 4 oz. at a time. If I get 5 or 6 oz. in a session, then I split it--4 in one bag and 1-2 in another. Right now I'm only pumping one side once a day since she is still at the breast, but I go back to work on Monday so I'll be double pumping 3 times a day at work.
I also store my frozen bags in a gift bag with a slot cut out at the bottom.

I'll freeze anywhere from 6-8 oz a bag, pretty much getting as much use of the bag as possible and then I'll mark how many ounces are in it.

I usually pump, scald (I have excess lipase,) and see how many total oz I have. I usually freeze in 4-6oz increments, but I keep about 10 1-ounce bags frozen in case she needed a top off at a feeding. Shes 11 months now, so she is down to 2 4-6oz bottles a day.

i freeze in 4-5 ounces since that's how much she takes in a feeding.

I stored 2 ozs at a time in the beginning, then gradually worked up to 4 ozs. I'd rather store them in small quantities so that you can have options for making bottles. Sometimes, after my son would finish his bottle, he'd cry (especially during those growth spurts) because he was still hungry! So thankfully I had a few smaller oz bags (like 1 or 2 oz) that I can quickly defrost and feed him, without having to defrost an entire 4 or 5 oz bag and then waste the rest.

I store 4 oz right now. She started taking 4 oz from a bottle at 5 weeks...
