I am due to start my period tomorrow. Today I took one of the walmart $.88 pregnancy test which say you can take it the day after a missed period, but I thought maybe I would get at least a faint positive if I were in fact pregnant, but it was negative. Soooo.... my question is, I have taken my temps both orally and vaginally. My oral temp is in my normal range of around 97.2 and my vaginal temp is ready 99.3 and today climbed to 99.7. Which one is the most accurate? Could that test have been wrong meaning there just isnt enough of the hormone yet to show up? Im just curious. Mostly as to why my vaginal temp would be so consistantly higher than my oral temp.

I never temped vaginally, but I believe it's always higher when you do that vs orally. That's why you have to be consistent throughout the month-- because the location would change it too much. No answer to why it would be higher today than earlier though.
How many DPO are you? You could have just tested too early.

I doubt it, I have a 28 day cycle, not exactly sure when I ovulated because I didnt take a test, but I would think it would be far enough in my cycle to show. Unless I implanted late... not sure. I have had a lot of cramping for the last week and a half, lots of headaches which I never get. I kind of think I am out this month, but I guess I will find out tomorrow. I am very regular.

I don't think you can compare oral vs. vaginal temperatures since they're going to be drastically different. It's the comparison against a constant/consistent method which will show what's "normal" for you. I think vaginal temping is recommended for people who sleep with their mouth open or have other outside factors affecting their BBT.

the most important factor is taking your temp the same way every single day at the same time. it doesn't matter which way you choose it just has to be consistient.
