How early will your OB normally sign you off for maternity leave? I've been really stressed lately at work and my health has been suffering. I considered quitting but am going to try and make it as long as I can. I spoke to our HR department and they told me to get a doctor's note to sign me off early and plan it out with my manager. I'm just wondering, how early will the OB sign me out? Is 6 weeks too early?

4 weeks is the earliest my OB will sign for normal pregnancies.

Four weeks over here, but that was for normal pregnancy/stress...maybe if you're super stressed out your OB will consider doing it sooner. Good luck and breathe!

Not sure, I had some high blood pressure issues and she offered to sign me out at 5 weeks, but I stuck it out until the end (it would have cut into my time off with the baby & I wasn't willing to give that up.)
