I'm early on in my 2nd trimester, so I thought I had tons of time to think about peds and daycare options, but my neighbor with 2 young kids put the fear into me the other day, and has gotten me worried!

We live in a fairly large east coast city, and apparently if you wait until the kid is born to look for (infant) daycare, you're already too late. So we're going to tour a nearby center today. It feels insanely early to me, but people tell me that this is the time to do it, in case we need to get on a couple of waiting lists.

If you needed daycare around the 12 week mark, when did you start looking at options? If you live in a large city, did that influence your timeline?

It feels like there are hardly any affordable and open daycare options for infants here, so competition for spots is intense!
