Basically, does my daughter STTN by your standards? What *is* the standard?
We started saying E STTN at 25 months old because she actually started doing it sometimes (like 7-7), but its still not consistent at 31 months. I feel like there's always a reason - teeth hurting, ill, unsettled about something - but the most she ever goes STTN is three nights in a row (but she will wake in the night many, many nights in a row, usually once but sometimes every hour or so).
Is this the same for you? Are my expectations way off? I'm reading on another thread about EBF babies who didn't STTN until, gasp, over a year old. Does STTN mean most nights at that point?
Could you try a reward chart with her? She gets a sticker for every time she "sleeps through"/if she wakes up, doesn't get you up? And maybe if she has milk before bed, try and reinforce as much as possible for her that big girls have their milk before bed, not in the nighttime...my sister went through a very similar thing with my niece and she left a bottle of water with her in bed that she could drink through the night, and the reward chart was tacked up opposite her bed with glow in the dark stickers, as a reminder. It didn't work all the time but she went from waking up every night to only 1 night-ish a week.
