Harder: I do miss my pre-baby social life. We used to go out to eat and get drinks with friends several times a week, having 2 littles makes it hard to do things like that with my husband, any more I feel like it's one of us goes, the other stays home to babysit.

Easier: To say no, I used to have a tough time saying no to anyone, now I can because of kids!

Harder: I mean, a million ways. No one ever said, man life would be so much easier with a toddler who has no sense but the ability to get into so much trouble in the time it takes me to wash my hands... More specifically, going anywhere without her involves a lot of planning and coordinating. The wedding I recently went to was such a hassle, so much planning, where before it was like, hmm what dress should I wear? Should I stay overnight so I can drink?

Also planning around naps is annoying.

Easier: I quit my job to stay at home with her, so I no longer have to commute on the train at rush hour or be place at a specific time most of the time. I enjoy the flexibility of our days, and hard as it is, I enjoy 99% of my days with her more than I ever liked working.

Also being pregnant has been a great excuse for not doing something I don't feel like- nope, not staying out late, yup, sitting down here instead of dancing to this song I don't like.

Harder: I have no relaxation time anymore! (Granted, LO is only 5.5 months old.) But the only time I can even watch TV or read a book is when I'm PUMPING. Ha.

Easier: It's a lot easier for me to have a good perspective at work. Instead of getting frustrated by things or exasperated with clients, now I'm kind of like "Oh, yeah, whatever. I'll do this, just like I do every else, and then I get to go home to see my girl." It's just kind of like (not in a creepy way) none of that stuff is an important as being her mama...which actually makes me much more balanced in the workplace!

@mfa_lady: I love that!! It has made me better at work too because I need to succeed to give her good things. I look at pictures of her before going into meetings where I may have to be confrontational - because I want my girl to like me for paying her through university way more than i want any colleague to like me!
