H is 15 months old, nearly 16 months. For about 70% of his life, we've been putting him to bed and to nap with a full sized Aiden + Anais blanket folded up. This was cute because he would wake up and then 'hide' under his blanket so that we could play peek-a-boo. He would drag it from room to room much like a really long tail and evened earned the nick name 'Linus' from family members and friends.

Well, Linus with his blanket is going to get hurt. No, correction, he already has gotten hurt. Since he's such a little daredevil, he likes to run full speed through the house on his tip toes with the blanket trailing behind him. Only he doesn't keep it neatly folded like he used to. He has it unfolded and it's bigger than he is. And longer than he is. And it gets tied up around his ankles or his foot catches it and off he goes sailing into our hardwood floors.

This has caused more bruises over the past two and a half months than I care to count. So DH and I have come to the conclusion to keep the A+A blankets out of reach while he's awake and only offer it to him when he's about to take a nap or go down for the evening.

But I still want him to be able to go and grab something, a 'lovey' to comfort himself with while I'm dealing with baby sister. He's not particularly attached to any of his stuffed animals and I'd feel better if he had a blanket, like the Angel Dear loveys - but I don't know if it's too late to introduce a lovey at this age. Or if I'd just be wasting my money at this point. And I don't know which lovey to get him if I did get an Angel Dear lovey. Suggestions? Comments?
