Water broke at 2:30am. Contractions started 10 minutes later at 4 minutes apart. I showered and dried my hair and got to the hospital around 4am and was already 4cm. DD was born at 1:05pm.

My water broke at 3:30 am when I was 36 weeks 2 days. I went to the hospital at 8 am, had LO at 11 am.
I highly recommend packing your bag before 36 weeks!! It's definitely not fun to do during contractions!

My labor never started after my water broke so I had to be induced. Time from water breaking to delivery was about 28 hours, 12 hour induction.

My water broke around 3am but I never started contracting on my own. We got to the hospital around 4:30am and they let me walk around to try and get things going. My midwife got there between 8 and 9. I started pitocin shortly after that. I ended up with csection 18 hours after my water broke.

@rahlyrah: I have to add that I showered at least twice before going to the hospital. When my water broke in bed, it was a trickle. When I was sitting around and emailing for a substitute (for a class I was teaching later that day) it GUSHED! Like dramatic TV style! I even had a pad on and it didn't stop it.

Once I realized I would constantly be leaking, I stopped trying to change and finally just left. For some reason, I thought it would break and empty itself ... ehh totally not the case!

My water broke at 8:20 am, contractions didn't start until 5:15 pm, baby was born as 2:34 am. So, 18 hours start to finish.

And, yes, the first thing I did was take a shower and then put on makeup! Haha
