We started giving LO some oatmeal cereal and bananas about a week ago and so far she is not interested. She makes faces and pushes most of it out, though I can tell she took in a little banana from her poop--haha!
I consider this just practice, but I thought she might show a little interest. How long did it take for your baby to take to food?

I haven't started yet but I thought maybe she hasn't tried one she likes yet?

We just started this past week and LO is 5 months. He does the same as your LO and he takes in very, very little. I don't think he's ready yet but like I mentioned in @regberadaisy's post, I just want him to get used to taking the spoon and tasting different textures...it's definitely not for nutrition at this point!

It took my lo a little over a week. I was surprised, but she just had to learn how it all worked.

It was love at first sight for my son and his spoon. He got the hang of it right away, at around 5 months old.

®beradaisy: after 5 weeks, she is finally really eating! And it seems like the change happened overnight. One day she was pushing food out and making faces and the next day, she started opening her mouth for more. She also started taking teething biscuits and taking bites of food herself, like from a banana or mango . Its pretty amazing and so fun now.

@miranlee: that's awesome to hear how well she's doing and how quickly things turned around. How old is your LO again?

She is going to be 7 months on 8/5. We started feeding her at 5.5 months, though and it's only this week that she started really wanting food. It's so funny how they just change literally over night!
