Day 1 of potty training was yesterday....she did ok. She peed in the potty 4 times and had some accidents but seems to get the hang of it.
Did your LO poop in the potty right away? My LO usually runs and does her business (in a diaper) in the corner of the room....I hope she isn't shy about pooping on the potty!

He did once and only once so far -
I knew he was about to, so I asked him to sit on the seat and of course praised him to the heavens afterwards but it didn't make him want to try it again :::sigh:::

By day 3 of the bottomless method she was going poo on the potty herself. I was so worried about it but she started using it for pee and poo at the same time. I think keeping her bottomless was key and letting her figure out her own body cues (for example not sitting her on it every few minutes or trying to time it... Just set her on when she starts and let her finish on the potty). It meant a ton of accidents but it forced her to listen to her body

My son took about 2 weeks. He would wait until we put on a diaper for naps and poop then. Once he figured it out, he only had 3-4 poop accidents.

She pooped on the first day of training and was ok pooping at home. It was daycare that was the problem. It took her a few weeks to poop there so that was a bit stressful.

My first pooped in the potty right away... she was trained with poop first, before pee! we never had a poop accident!
My second though... we've had 3 poop accidents and 1 successful poop in the potty... then 1 accident again yesterday. Hoping that was just a fluke and she remembers to go in the potty! I hate poop accidents

DD pooped first in the potty and we're having a hard time with pee pee. When we saw her making a pooping face we said poop? and she says yes and we run to the potty. So now she always tells us when she has to poop

It took DS one day to figure out pee and about 2 weeks before he figured out poo. He knew what he was supposed to do, but would just wait until we put on a diaper for naps or nighttime.

I pushed too soon and it scared my little one so I pulled back on the training and tried again a couple months later and she picked on it after a couple of weeks.

@autumnlove: We are having the same issue going on 3 months. Literally no accidents, but after the first 2-3 weeks and the rewards stopped, all BMs are right when our LO wakes from nap or in the morning. I bought more rewards a month ago, but no interest. Any tips?

Second daughter figured it out at age two. First daughter really struggled and was otherwise potty trained for a long time but still asked for diapers for pooping until probably 30 months. We slowly transitioned to going in the potty while wearing the diaper, then 1 strap off, then both straps off, then with the diaper sitting at the bottom of the potty. Finally we just took the diaper away.

We've been exposing our son to the potty for a couple months now. If we time it right, he will pee on the potty no problem...sometimes poop if we're lucky.
Since it's the long weekend, we've been doing the "no pants" thing for the past two days, and he has not had one accident while pants-less. He still peed/pooped with his diaper on, though. And today he pooped in his potty all on his own for the very first time!! This no-pants thing totally works.
He's just about 22 months now, btw.

@Sparkler: LO had a few bad accidents in her underwear (instead of pooping in her nap or night diaper) and she started to ask for the potty after that.
I also give her big stickers for poop.
