@Beehive: This is exactly how I feel about breastfeeding. Reaching our goal was amazing. I had that strange, what's next feeling especially since my LO is a little boob hound. Barring anymore awful colds, I'm going to go as long as I can. I can't wait to be done pumping at work. I have to plan my whole day's work around the pumps.

@Monkula: I've tried fenugreek, reglan, oatmeal. I just ordered blessed thistle, MMP, MMT that are supposed to arrive on Monday. I pump 6x per day for 30-40 minutes each time (making sure I go 10 minutes past last drop). My pump (Ameda) does a pretty good job, I think. I feel completely drained, and I can't squeeze anymore out after I'm done with the pump. I rented a hospital grade Medela for a while, and it didn't do any better. DD was jaundiced and sleepy right after birth, and I couldn't keep her awake to nurse to save my life. I think we just got off to a bad start, and my body doesn't want to catch back up. It took 4 weeks before I realized I had supply issues (at her 1 month appt she had LOST weight since birth!)

My goal was 1 year and she self weaned around 13 months...it seems like a lifetime ago (LO is 16 months)

With LO#1 we went about 14 mo. Had a crazy amount of pumped milk in the freezer too so once I stopped BF I was able to use the frozen in a up and his food.
LO#2 is only 4ish weeks old and I am hoping to go just as long for her

We've almost made it to six months, my next goal is twelve months and my ultimate goal is to let LO self wean (within reason).
I'm very fortunate that I'm on mat leave until October as we've had plenty of issues and I still have crappy days where nursing doesn't go so well.

@prettylizy: I can't wait for the day when it is only 1-2x a day. This 6-8x a day thing is so all encompassing.

@swurlygurl: Such a horrible feeling when others aren't supportive, isn't it?? Just keep at it and do what you can! And when you're done, you're done. Hope it gets better...

We weaned unintentionally right at 12 months. I would have gone to 18 months but I admit it's sooo nice to have my body back to myself and to have that feeling of needing to be around to feed my LO gone.

My goal was 1 year. We're about 6 weeks away. I'm cutting back to 2x/day then, and I'll go with that until she weans herself or 2.

We're at 9 months and still going strong. I had goals of 6 weeks, 3 months, and then my big goal of 6 months. I love it though so when 6 months came along, there was no way I was ready to stop. New goal is 12 months or when I get pregnant next, whatever comes first.
Also, I never had to pump, except when I was full or LO had the odd bottle of pumped milk. Had I had to pump everyday, I probably would have stopped at 6 months. I give major props to the mommas who pump everyday!

@Swurlygirl; sorry I didn't respond sooner. We've been doing so much Easter stuff! I was thinking about you, though. Sounds like you are doing/trying lots of things. For the oatmeal, steel cut oats are supposed to be the best (you might already know that). If the MMP doesn't work for you, you might try the MM Special Blend. I had more luck with that one. Sounds like the pumping is going well. Have you considered domperidone instead of the reglan?
