I stopped shortly after my babe learned to roll, although I don't think there was any danger to her rolling in the swaddle... that's a whole other skill set. BUT I know the nanny swaddles her for naps, which I don't have a problem with. She even "swaddled" my two year old for his naps until very recently, hahaha. So maybe we are living dangerously but I feel OK about it because she pretty much keeps an eye on them.

We weaned at 4 months, but because she was breaking out of every swaddle. She started rolling soon thereafter. I know people that swaddled up to 10-12 months, though!

DS hated swaddles. he pretty much went wo after the first cpl of wks; i used them briefly during week 6-11 while we were transitioning to crib, etc. we cold turkey swaddle weaned at 11 wks!

our pediatrician recommended to stop swaddling at 3 months. i didn't bother asking why because i was happy to swaddle wean. i never liked the idea of her being so "restricted". we weaned her at 10 weeks cold turkey. figure we had to do it some time anyway so minus well get it over with!

A little past 4 months when LO started gettin out more frequently and she seemed ready. We went pretty much cold turkey and that was that! No problems.

We swaddle weaned at 4.5 months. DS loved being swaddled and couldn't sleep without it. He learned to roll long before we weaned. He would never roll in his sleep while swaddled so it wasn't a problem. We decided to wean because he rolled over while swaddled one day when I went to get him up from his nap. I flipped him over to see if he would do it again and he did! We weaned cold turkey that night and switched him to a sleep sack.

Still swaddling at 10 weeks. I'm afraid to wean! She sleeps so well I don't want to mess with it! She isn't rolling yet but I have a feeling that our pedi is going to suggest weaning at our 3 month visit. I can't imagine sleep sacks are going to give her the same secure feeling.

We swaddled DD until she was 6ish months, she was ready by then to be on her own. I just waited for her to show signs of readiness. I would have swaddled until she was 2 if it helped with sleep!

DD did not like being swaddled, although it did help her sleep better early on. We stopped at 3.5 months when she was really fighting it, and she immediately started sleeping through the night as soon as we dropped the swaddle. Needless to say, we have never looked back.

Just stopped last week at nearly 5 months, but now we're using the Merlin Magic Sleep Suit. Which I recommend to EVERYONE. OMG it's amazing and our twins have both slept through the night consistently since we started in them. I was terrified of swaddle weaning, but these made it a piece of cake!
